Subject:Bronze Sculpture
Posted By: Boots Tue, Dec 18, 2018 IP: 107.203.56.77

Can anyone help me identify this bronze sculpture? My parents bought this sculpture 30+ years ago at an auction and can't remember any details about it. It seems to be an Asian Warrior on horseback holding a scroll. Do you recognize the stamp/signature? Thank you for any help!

The mark reads 'Aomine saku' (碧嶺作 - made by Aomine), probably a metalworker from Toyama, active during the Showa era.

Guy.

Hi, Guy!

Thank you so much for your reply. So, it is Japanese then? Do you happen to have any thoughts on how I can find more information about it? I googled the name you provided, to no avail.

Info is alone available at Japanese websites in Japanese.

Search Google in the advanced seach modus:

https://www.google.com/advanced_search

-> Language: Japanese -> search for 碧嶺作 or 碧嶺

Guy.
