Subject:king seal?

please help me identify what i have hear it's a stamp on what i believe is a 300 plus year old cabinet from japan! friend says the writing is "king of the gold" does that mean it belong to him? please help

The character 鑒 simply means mirror. A 'king' in Japan or China would not use a wax seal but rather a seal which prints an image.

This is simple a vintage customs seal.
The first part of the English inscription on the seal is not readable, but it continues with ....PERMICSON.
The Chinese character 鍳 means "Inspected"

The "King of Na gold seal" (ref. Google) is a horse of another color.
