Subject:I bought this at Goodwill. What can you tell me about it?

I bought this little painting at a Goodwill for $3.99. It is painted on silk and it has a stamp down in the bottom left corner with a signature. It looks like someone had it framed 20 years ago in a framing shop in Los Angeles. So I assume it was meaningful to someone enough to have it custom framed a few decades ago. But it is a very simple frame; nothing ornate. The silk does not look old enough for it to be more than 50 years old, but I really have no clue.

My best guess is this was a piece of artwork someone bought on a trip and wanted framed? Maybe a family member was an artist and gave this painting to someone who wanted it framed?

Seal reads,
陳興和師 - Mater Chen Xing
Signature,
Chen.. or Ch`en...

Probably, Taiwanese or overseas Chinese painter.

With regards,
I.Nagy
