Subject:Please ID a mark (stamped) on base of bronze "vase"
Posted By: Alan Goldsworthy Sun, Jan 13, 2019 IP: 50.1.86.11 I inherited a large low round bronze vessel we believe to be of Japanese origin. It was from a collection of my Great-Grandfather's of various bronze pieces bought in San Francisco prior to and after the 1906 earthquake/fire. It is the only piece with a stamp, this is on the base and approximately 3/4" or 20mm high. Any help to identify this is greatly appreciated. |

Posted By: Alan Goldsworthy Wed, Jan 16, 2019 Thank you for that help. I had not considered it might be Korean but San Francisco was a port that saw trade with all of Asia, so it's surely possible. |
