Subject:Japanese nihonga painting
Posted By: Jacob Fri, Mar 08, 2019 IP: 79.113.234.163

Hello,

I would be very thankful if someone can help me read the signature of this Japanese hanging scroll. Is the upper inscription a poem ? What kind of school does it remind of ? I guess it was made in the 1930s-1940s.

Thank you !

J.

Signature and upper seal read,
景淳 - Keijun
Unfortunately, I can`t read the lower seal with the
pseudonym、could be 剔人 or 刻人 - by hunch.
The upper very sloppy individual style inscription is not a poem, I can`t decipher it word by word, but it is just the description of the scene
with reed, bird and autumn morning wind.

Unidentifiable artist,

With regards,
I.Nagy

Dear I Nagy,

I think I can help you with the lower seal.

I read it as 日影. What gave me the hint to the second character is the third descending line on the right hand side.

Respectfully

Mikeoz

Thank you so much ! Can you place this painting within a school ? Or its just modern nihonga painting ?

Thank you once again !

J.
