Subject:60s Japanese Modern Art Framed Impasto "Painting"
Posted By: Jim Thu, May 16, 2019 IP: 73.2.14.32

hi everyone. i just found this piece at the local Salvation Army and i really love it. i put the word painting in quotation marks in the title because i'm not sure how to describe this work. the subject is in very bold relief against the surface which appears to be metalic(i'm not sure what the backing material is). also, there are two hand cut circles in the work that when hanging on the wall would give it two solid white elipses in the background. anyway, i was hoping someone out there could help me to identify the artist. this work including the frame(which is beautiful) measures 33.5"x18.5". any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

The character in the box could be the title of opus,
朝 - Asa - Morning

With regards,
I.Nagy

yes, it does look like that might be what it is, but, unfortunately, i don't see how that might identify the artist. oh well, thanks
