Subject:Help with identification of Satsuma vases
Posted By: pitu Sat, Jun 22, 2019 IP: 37.47.104.68

I'm looking for help with signature identification and overall info on this pair of Satsuma vases. I assume that they are from 1920's?

I hope that I didn't posted it upside down.

I.Nagy, I'm very grateful for your translation.

I've compared these vases with others from this workshop I've found on the internet and it seems that they could be circa 1900. Could someone confirm my suspicions?

Most Nishida marks have "Nippon" or "Dai Nippon" (= great Japan) as part of the mark, which often is an indication of the late Meiji / early Taisho Period: 1890-1920.
Regards,
Martin.
