I purchased this charger at a consignment shop and would appreciate any help identifying Mark/Origin.

The mark reads: Nishiki-en 錦苑 Kutani 九谷.
Nishiki-en = Brocade garden (studio).
Looking at he decoration it seems to me like Kutani ware from the last part of the 20th century.
Regards,
Martin.

Hi, your charger is Japanese in origin. The first two characters (top and bottom right) read kutani, a ceramics factory, usually producing during the Meiji (1868-1912) and Taisho(1912-1926) periods, but unfortunately I cannot identify the other two characters which will date it more precisely. I would personally suggest that this charger dates to the late Taisho period, so 1920s/30s, however I'm sure that others on this forum may be able to give you more information.

Regards, Tom
