Subject:Small Chinese / Japanese Ceramic 'stand'

Hallo all.
I'm not sure what this small item is used for: it could be a chop-stick rest, or maybe a candle holder...or maybe neither.
It is rather nicely decorated with a subdued picture of a bird on a branch which holds fruit and has crazing throughout.
It is only just over 3" (just under 8cm) in diameter.
There is a single mark on the base.
Does anyone recognise what it is and/or the maker/date?
