Subject:Help Identifying Characters on vase
Posted By: Adam Fri, Jul 12, 2019 IP: 71.94.65.114 Hello, I am trying to identify what the script reads on this large vase. I am not sure if this is Chinese or Japanese. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Jul 13, 2019 The characters, at least anything I can make out, read down and across from the top right as "Ninety-ninth year, autumn season, at Jingdezhen, (?) wei" (Jiu jiu nian qiu yue yu Jing de Zhen [?] wei - 九九年秋月扵景德镇(?)伟). The last two characters probably are all or part of the artist's name. The vase is Chinese but looks to me to be an non-traditional form, providing no reason to think that the year 99 is other than 1999. |
