Subject:Request Your Thoughts on this painting
Posted By: Roger Fri, Jul 12, 2019 IP: 2601:281:c202:b68a:5

Hello again,
I just bought this at an estate sale. It's extremely fragile. There is some loss but it appears to be a true work of art. I'd appreciate your thoughts on it. There are now marks available.

This would appear to be a painting on pith paper, which according to one source I found (URL follows) was used for painting from 1860. Before it was used for centuries to make ornamental flowers and other decorative objects.

The same source explains that Pith comes from the central column of spongy cellular tissue in the stem of a small tree called Tetrapanax Papyrifera.
