****This words belongs to the 3 pictures****

Hello, I have known this site for a long time. This is the first time I am asking a question on this site. Thank you for your fantastic webside and all your work.

Some time ago I bought this statue of a Buddha.

It is quite heavy:732 gramm. The size is:14 cm, 5,5 inch high
and 10 cm, 4 inch wide

At the bottom, there is an inserted coin. Unfortunately the inscription oft he coin is unreadable.

I am not shure where this statue comes from

Bihar (India) I think maybe it is from Mrauk-U (Burma)

Could someone help me?

Does someone know a book with a picture of this statue?

Thank you very much. Friendly greetings Jurgen B.from Germany

Hi Jurgen I'm pretty sure your Buddha is Burmese & from Arakan. There are Buddhas with similar proportions in 'The Buddhist Art of Ancient Arakan' by San Tha Aung

Hello Mike, Thank you for your answer. It feels good to hear a second opinion. I have the book "The Buddhist Art of Ancient Arakan" in my library. I visited Mrauk-U in the late 2000's. I was thrilled. Thank you again for your opinion. Wish you a healthy and peaceful future. Warm Regards Jurgen
