Subject:Is this globular vase a Japanese Arita?
Posted By: Giuseppe Sat, Nov 02, 2019 IP: 85.228.91.215

Dear friend.
I would like to have your opinion on this globular vase. Is it an Arita japanese vase?
If yes, what does the image represent?
Thanks

Hi this is sweet. The soft blue and shading looks more like Hirado than simply Arita, including the fine base.If it is unmarked it could well be Edo.
Hope this helps

Hi Oliver and thank you for your opinion.
Do you have any idea about the scene represented?
There is a knight and a wayfarer.
Is it typical for Hirado porcelain?
