Tests as under 18k gold. Green apple jadeite by the looks of it but does the design scream any era to anyone?

It is real jade and gold.

Your design suggest later 20th century.
As too whether the jadeite is genuine or treated/other requires a gemologist hand on test. It is impossible to determine either way by a couple of pictures.

I received this ring from an older woman who claims it was bought from a shop in China in the late 40's

I preformed a hardness test and observed it under a microscope.

I still have a bad feeling about that Jade. There is a possibility that it is Quartz, which is harder than Jade. Mark got the right idea:take it to a gemologist
