Subject:Japanese lacquer karabitsu chest - old or new?

I got this small lacquer chest in a lot of porcelain vases. Since i'm not familiar with this kind of object i ask for any help about the quality and age. Is looks new, but im not secure and want to discard any possibility of this piece being older.
