Subject:Help Identifying Bone/Ivory Asian Artifact
Posted By: Ari W. Fri, Sep 25, 2020 IP: 2601:404:c67f:3b50:7

I'm hoping someone from this forum might have some knowledge or insights that could prove useful in directing my on-going research into a lovely small rectangular bone/ivory artifact in my possession (possibly a pendant or similar worn object). It was left to me by my late father, an avocational archaeologist and world traveler, who recovered it during a trip to Nepal (however, I'm fairly certain it is not Nepalese). I was told at the time it was very old and either bone or ivory - that's all I know. Google has left me with more questions that answers.

If you think you can help and would like to see more, I have a PDF full report PDF I can provide containing 40+ photos with measurements, microscope photos, translucidity and efflorescence tests, etc. Simply contact me and I'd be thrilled to share.

Many thanks in advance to any able to help.

Regards,

Ari W.
