Subject:Qing timeline porcelain teapot?
Posted By: R.K. Tue, Jan 19, 2021 IP: 184.95.45.106

Hi All,

I would like to hear advice on my Chinese teapot if possible of course. Was this made within Qing timeline? Tea pot measures at 11 3/4 inch.

Thank you.

All the best R.K.

Sorry in my opinion it's relatively a new knock off.

Dear RK,

May I ask, have you ever made a pot of tea? Did you put tea leaves into the pot or a couple of tea bags? Did you notice the wide hole in the top of the pot to make this job easier?

Please, take another look at your pot. Could you fit a tea bag down that hole? And if you did, could you get it out again? Notice also, how high the end of the spout is relative to how it would be on all your teapots.

This is a wine pot.

If you had spent some time searching this excellent website, or any others, you would have been shown both tea pots and wine pots, and you would have been able to recognise the difference.
