Subject:Okimono Signature #2 translation Needed Please

Another modern piece. While looking at this through magnification trying to see the ivory lines I stumbled across this signature hidden in the kimono pattern. Have never seen the signature hidden before.

Signature is Chinese,
呂权 - Lü Quán - Surname and given name

Thanks again I.Nagy, really appreciate your help. Am I right in assuming the cat was carved by a Japanese carver and this one was done by a Chinese carver?

That's right.
(呂 "Lü" is a typical Chinese surname. 权 "Quán"
is a given name. This is the simplified form of character of 権 which is not used in Japan)
