Subject:Cloisonné Urn
Posted By: Robert Sollmann Mon, Jan 03, 2022 IP: 67.85.12.231

Would you please help me identify the age, approximate dollar value, and maker of the cloisonné urn shown in the attached photos?

Many thanks.

Your handled pot with Animal Mask (taotie) decoration and faux mark of "Made during the Xuande Reign of the Great Ming Dynasty" (Da Ming Xuan de Nian Zhi - 大明宣德年製) may be from the late Republic or early People's Republic periods. This mask pattern also was produced during the late Qing Guangxu period (1875-1908) but was more finely made.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Thank you, Bill. Can you give me an idea of what I should ask for this piece if I were to sell it?
