Subject:Hiroshige woodblocks, some curious calligraphy on sides
Posted By: Arun Tue, Jun 07, 2022 IP: 47.205.111.30

I have a few Hiroshige woodblocks. They are matted and plastic seals and are No. 1 Nihonbashi and #48 Seki from "The Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido Road. However unlike what I see online of these same prints, my prints have some additional text on each side.

See second and third photos with the additional writing. What does the text say and how old may these be likely? Thanks

Apparently your prints are post WWII reproductions
made from recut blocks based on the original Hoeido design version.
