Hi, In a trip to Asia, the artist was sitting in a solitary table doing some calligraphy, and all people in the restaurant was saying he was a very know artist. As a typical tourist I approach him and ask him to please do a calligraph for me and he kindly accept and did it. Have no idea if its japanese or chinese?, what does it says? and who the artist is? I would really appreciate some help

The unidentifiable calligrapher was Chinese.
