Subject:Large metallic tray
Posted By: Tony Wed, Jun 15, 2022 IP: 69.229.8.211

Dear friends,
It is a large metallic tray with embossed / engraved (?) marking decoration, at 22" in diameter - on a foldable carved wooden stand.
It seems old with all the oxidation, especially on the back, and I am not sure of its material, cultural origin, and period.
I would love to have your inputs and very much appreciated of your help and time!!!
Best,
Tony

Looks like gilt bronze? Quite heavy!
Not quite sure Asian … middle Eastern?
Sorry for my ignorance 😊🙏

Thanks so so very much for your precious time and kind help with input Steve 🙏😊🙏

By the way, just performed further search and found online a similar but much newer item, originated from Morocco:

With this online reference, if found to be correct on the date, any idea on what period the tray and stand in question would be? 🙏🙏🙏

These brass trays with stand were made in India. They rose to popularity in the 1950s into the 1960s. Your tray appears to be of that vintage but would also need to see the stand.

I might be wrong, but they don't quite look like brass!?
