I know this is likely modern but I was wondering what the mark says? Thanks for any help

The mark reads: Shigaraki 信楽 Yaki 焼(Shigaraki ware). This is indeed a modern piece.
Shigaraki ware is a traditional ceramic and stoneware made mainly in Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, and is one of the six ancient kilns in Japan (Wikipedia).
Google "Shigaraki Yaki Blue Glass".
Regards,
Martin.
