Subject:2 of 3 Satsuma vases with translation/date requests
Posted By: Chris Sun, Jul 03, 2022 IP: 70.179.57.71

Hello Again,

Below are a couple photos of the second of three Satsuma vases I have with something other than the standard "Dai Nippon" or "Satsuma" kanji.

This is the first vase's little brother. Can somebody please translate the kanji underneath the Shimazu mon? In addition any information pertaining to the vase's age would be similarly appreciated, and I thank you all in advance or the same.

Kind Regards,
Chris

The name reads: Yasui 安井.
Mark of the Yasui-ten (Yasui shop).
Date around 1900.
Regards,
Martin.

Hello Martin,

Thank you once again for your assistance in both dating the piece and for translating the mark on my Satsuma vases.

Kind Regards,
Chris
