The box with the imperial crysanthemum symbol is from Japan and the characters translate as follows (keep in mind I'm a student of these characters from my studies of the Chinese language, particularly the mandarin tongue):

勲五等瑞宝章愛章紀念
In honor of the Meritorious 5th Order of the Sacred Treasure

岡本 藤四郎
Okamoto Toshiro (Possibly a person's name)

平成四年春
Heisei era (Akihito Reign) 4th year springtime (1992)

According to Wikipedia, the Order of the Sacred Treasure (瑞宝章, Zuihō-shō) is a Japanese order, established on 4 January 1888 by the Meiji Emperor as the Order of Meiji. Since 2003, the Order of the Sacred Treasure has been given the same rank as the Order of the Rising Sun.

I'm basically practicing and hoping that I.NAGY has time to grade my papers.

Best regards,

Bill H.
