Subject:Age of this hexagonal vase?
Posted By: Jackie Sun, Feb 26, 2023 IP: 122.106.66.182

Hi, am interested in finding out more about this Vase. Has been in my family for more than 20 years. Was a gift and we believe it is an antique, but not 100% sure. Any feedback or insights would be appreciated. Believe it is Chinese. Would love to know what the mark underneath it says? Thanks in advance for any assistance. (the handles are both in perfect condition, just still has some wrapping paper on it - was in storage)

Your vase has a fanciful version of ‘Made during the Daoguang reign of the Great Qing Dynasty’. The pastel enamel colors as well as repetitive and overlapping elements in the pattern point to a date of circa the late 20th century, while the reglazed base indicates the piece could be a product of one of the workshops engaged in decorating made-in-China porcelain within and outside its borders, such as Hong Kong or Macao.

Best regards,

Bill H.
