Hallo Swis Cana,

You can make a search on "Satsuma" and you'll find a lot. Your vase is Satsuma with Moriage (raised enamels) decoration and dates from around 1920. The mark you showed reads " Kinkozan tsukuru"

best regards,
Arjan

Japanese Satsuma, may be Meiji period may be modern. The gilt is suspicious. Worth 50 USD if Meiji but if modern 5 bucks.

The vase is Japanese and unfortunately is not over 100 years old. It dates to the 1930's and sometime called Satsuma style. They were made in huge numbers and exported to Western markets.

Not quite 100 years. More like 80 years, circa 1930, from Japan, commonly called Satsuma (but a poor relative of the earlier Satsuma wares).

many thanks for the 4 answers, it sure was helpful to come here. I thought the guy who bought the vase while visiting Asia was there earlier. Never mind, glad you all helped.
I got more information here than from an expensive appraisal service who did not recognize the label. I realize the info received here could be wrong, nevertheless it looks more trustworthy then the other source.

You can make an internet search with " Kinkozan tsukuru " (search for pictures) and you will find simular pieces and marks.

Arjan
