In my experience, despite its standard character mark of "Made during the Shunzhi reign of the Great Qing dynasty", this is a PRC-contemporary era product that has been artificially aged. The Shunzhi emperor (1644-1661), or at least his side, emerged on top of the leadership struggle between contenders to lead the Qing dynasty. Being only six years old at ascension, he didn't take the reins of government until 1651, then died in 1661. The Imperial kiln at Jingdezhen was damaged in continuing struggles, and it took until 1680 of the ensuing Kangxi reign before the imperial kilns resumed production of vessels of a quality suitable for the Palace Confucian temple rites.

In sum, continuing struggles, including for control of Jingdezhen, restricted imperial kiln production of palace and ceremonial porcelain during the Shunzhi era. The crackle glaze of your dish also is indicative of soft-paste porcelain, which is rarely seen at the palace. The clincher is this plate's decoration is inferior to imperial quality.

Much of the preceding is summarized from Liu Liang-yu's 1991 comprehensive volume on "Qing Official and Popular Wares", part of his "Survey of Chinese Porcelain".

Best regards,

Bill H.

“大清顺治年制“, "Shunzhi, Qing Dynasty", but I don't know if it is authentic
