Subject:Kutani Pot
Posted By: David C Mon, Jun 27, 2022 IP: 90.254.194.40

Dear All.
I have searched all over the place and my resources have only come up with Okuhira-Zo.
Am I close or have I got it wrong. I thought maybe it could be Watahei but the first kanji is wrong for that. Okuhira is for sure the nearest in my view. Any help much appreciated as always and an idea of the date of this potter. I think Kutani but normal kanji for that is not present.
Best wishes everyone
D

The name is indeed Okuhira 奥平 and the mark reads Okuhira Zo (Made by Okuhira).
It's Yokohama exported Kutani ware, see my picture.
Dates around 1900.
Regards,
Martin.

Dear Martin
Thanks so much for your expertise again. This is the first time I've correctly deciphered some kanji so I'm feeling quite chipper. Best wishes
