I think it`s the work of a Chinese Chan (Zen) master.
半生看遍海山奇
見過新聞好個歸
何時心眼開象外
畫禪壇上見玉雅
丙寅夏六月寫併題
白氏美
I have seen all the wonders of the seas and the mountains for half of my life,
but I have not heard a teaching from a good master
When do we open our hearts and eyes to the outside world
Elegancy seen in the Chan (Zen) painting world
Painted and inscribed in the Summer June Month of the Year of Fire-Tiger (...1866,1926)
by Bai Shi (Master Bai) Mei
Upper seal,
美綱 -Meigang (Principle of beauty)- Pseudonym ?
Lower seal,
白氏 - Bai Shi (Master Bai)
Inscription on scroll end,
山河 - Mountains and rivers
Box lid (Left),
玉簫筆 - Painted by Yuxiao (Not consistent with the painting) - Art-name
Box lid( Right),
溪山深趣 - Deep interest in mountains and streams
(It could be the title of this scroll)
With regards,
I.Nagy
