Subject:Autencicating Chinese Kangxi Vase

Hi all.

Can anyone please help me autencicate this vase, i've got it from a guy who's dad went to china and bought it off a museum, the papers attached is from china when he bought it.

Your friend should have been alerted to the discrepancy in the documentation.

The 'certificate' says the vase is Ming and 150 years 'ago' , while the mark clearly mentions the Qing KangXi emperor.

The Ming dynasty ended in 1644. The KangXi Emperor's reign was from 1662 to 1722.

It couldn't be marked with a date that was in the future! How would they have known who would be emperor at that time?

Seems that it was new when purchased in China
