I bought this beautiful calligraphy. Can anyone help me with translation? Is there the author's name and the date? Also on the back is written. Many thanks in advance.
Andrea

Both pictures (scrolls) are Japanese
1st,
Calligraphy of a known Chinese poem.
The poet: Liu Zhen (劉禎)-217 (Han Dynasty)
Title: 贈従弟 Present to a younger brother (3rd strope)
亭々山上松.....etc.

The signature of calligrapher,

若舟 Jakushun or Wakabuna (Art name)
I have found out from the Japanese language net
that his real name was Nawa Matahachiro (1864-1928)
Between 1918-20 he was the Admiral of Japanese
Navy.(Google)

2nd
An another Chinese poem in running script.
I could not find out the poem.
In the second line from left there is the signature,
名和 Nawa

The inscription on the edge,

花岡正ロ To Hanaoka Masa.. (last character illegible)
名和又八郎 海軍大将畫(陸海軍中将時代)大正十二年
五月表記
Calligraphy of Nawa Matahachiro -Admiral of Navy
Written in May 1926 when he was Vice Admiral
(corection in text by the writer army to navy)

Interesting discovery,
With regards,
I.Nagy

Hello. Thank you very much for the important information. The text of poetry is:
亭亭山上鬆,瑟瑟谷中風。
風聲一何盛,鬆枝一何勁。
冰霜正慘悽,終歲常端正。
豈不罹凝寒,鬆柏有本性。
unfortunately I could not find a translation. It is not unusual in Japan that high-grade military or important state men were also literate and calligraphy. Like admiral Togo Heihachiro (maybe that attached is his calligraphy?) or Itō Hirobumi. Thanks again and Best Regards, Andrea
