Trying to find a name of a Chinese painter based on his signature (red stamp). Picture of the painting is attached.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Seal reads, in Chinese,
林元畫　　　Picture of Lín Yuán
in Jaoanese,
Picture of Hayashimoto
In this case without seeing the picture and the signature of artist,it is hard to tell whether it's Chinese or Japanese.
