Need help on finding info on a Chinese painter.

A very kind person has helped me to translate the inscription on one of his pictures (please see attached), however I was not able to find any info on the painter (in English at least). I am primarily interested in finding out his years of life.

The inscriptions on the picture read:
春風綉出　　Spring wind gently blows
癸亥　春林元　Year of water-Pig (...1923,1983)  Chun Lin Yuan
(Full name of the painter)
畫於秀閣館     Picture (Painted) at  Flagrant Pavilion
Seal,
林元畫　Picture of Lin Yuan

Any info would be greatly appreciated

You have the artist's name, Lin Yuan, and the date of the painting (1983), so I think it is safe to assume that the artist is probably in or approaching retirement. However although colorful and done with some skill, I think you will find it difficult to locate much information about this artist
