Dear Forum,

I am kindly asking for your help in order to read and identify the signature of a painting.

Someone told me that the name is Hong Jiu Li but i am not sure if this is correct, because i cant find any painter with this name.

the name you have is correct, but it is signed as it is usually rendered, surname first, so Li Hongjiu. I don't see anything for this painter either, but it is possible that the artist is a Cantonese speaker and romanizes his name in some other fashion than the pinyin romanization I used here. But I looked the painter up using the characters for his name and didn't see any results, so he is likely simply too minor to have easily found information about.

The name is correct.
李鴻九　Li Hongjiu (Li is the family, Hongjiu is
the courtesy name)
I either could not find painter under this name on Chinese language web sites。The artist can be one of the less known contemporary artists.
