Subject:Pottery Bowl Identification

I bought this bowl a few months ago, for $14. It was listed as a Japanese tea bowl, but now I have my doubts. Any thoughts as to whether or not it is contemporary or Chinese or Japanese? Measures about 4 inches across, 1.5 inches high.

I will post 3 pictures, but I have many others, if anyone is interested.

Thanks.

Japanese bowls for summer tea ceremonies are usually both wider and heigher than your bowl appears to be. They are also thinner, and are usually decorated with something suggestive of the season.

Your bowl could well be Japanese, and probably more likely for serving a small salad or pickle.

After I saw your posting, I came upon this picture of a similar cup on the Facebook site of 林傳凱 in Taipei, Taiwan. Possible that your cup is from Taiwan?
