Subject:Indentify this Chinese Scroll Painting of Plum Blossoms?
Posted By: Alexander May Sat, Nov 25, 2017 IP: 130.105.208.141

Hi, I need some help identifying this scroll painting of plum blossoms. It has some nice calligraphy in it with 3 seal marks.

Any help what the calligraphy states and who the artist is?

Thanks a lot.

artist is Li Tiandai 李天带, apparently the vice-warden of a prison in Guangxi province. One of his pictures won an award in the 2016 provincial art contest for prison employees: https://read01.com/8mo5Qy.html

Oops !

Thank you Rat. Li Tiandai is correct. I have overseen first the calligraphy then the seal.
Both are clear situation.
I have to order new reading glasses.

I could not find the above reference link on Baidu or Sogou. In this case, the dating will be 1999.instead of 1939. However, the picture looks a little older.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Readings:
1st picture:
心畫 Heart painting ( Oval Opening seal)
蓮縄又激雪鐡骨都
Despite of bindings and the stormy snows it is fierce and unyielding
新春己卯 Spring -Year of Earth Rabbit (..1939)
李大帯 Li Dadai (Signature of painter)
Seal;
李大帯 Li Dadai

2nd picture.(Long seal):
墨菇 Mogu (Ink mushroom) Leisure seal of painter

3rd picture,
I am not sure yet with the reading, but I think it is from the same painter. Seal is very obscure.

I could not find the artist neither on Chinese language net, nor in name dictionaries.

With regards,
I.Nagy
