Subject:延年 A prolonged life

In your second picture, inside the circle on top of the wooden plague, from right to left are:
延年 (yan nian)
延 = extend, prolong;
年 = years
They are usually used as:
延年益壽 yan nian yi shou
益 = increase
壽 = life, longevity, age.

Together they are used as a common Chinese 4-character phrase 成語 cheng yu in wishing somebody living a long life, usually in their birthdays. The bird in the middle of this circle is probably a crane 鶴 which usually represents longevity in Chinese arts.

The 延年 inside the circle kind of matching the 萬歳 (ten thousand years) usually used for addressing an emperor but in this case probably also in wishing somebody living a long life.

However, using 萬壽 would be more appropriate, make me wonder if this is a Chinese work.

Hope this helps.

Super
