Subject:Identification/Translation on Silk Paintings
Posted By: Mary W Sun, Jan 14, 2018 IP: 71.212.220.245

I acquired these from grandmother about 30 years ago. They look like they were taken out of a frame so she had had them for awhile I think. Would love to have the characters translated, and the stamp.

Anything I would need to know to have them framed? I assume they should be behind glass? They are mounted on paper.

Thank you!

Reading of inscriptions,
Picture on the left,
對隺待話 - Talking to cranes
夏月作於楊州 - Painted in summer-month in Yangzhou
Seal reads in my interpretation,
張伺 - Zhang Si

Picture on the right,
擬唐子畏畫 Picture of Chinese women showing respect
to each other
意時在壬子夏之月 Time of concept,Year of Water Rat
(..1917..), Summer-month
容於作 - Rong Wuzuo - Name of artist
Leisure seal with the motto of artist reads,
寓意 - Implied meaning

In the near future i`ll look after the artists for
accidental identifications. If I found something I will let you know.

With regards,
I.Nagy
