I have no information about a cup I acquired from an estate sale. I would be most grateful for any information you wish to share.

Transfer ware, possibly from the UK or across the Channel. Not very old. Probably no earlier than the 1930s to mid-century.

It appears to be transfer ware. Very similar to a British company called Allertons' work. Most produced prior to WW2.

I have been searching for a more accurate maker of your cup. So many manufacturers made variations of the traditional "blue willow " pattern, that it is mind boggling to investigate. Are there any bottom marks that may give a clue?

I have found a match! Look on ebay for item no.152714836616. Here you will find a cup with exactly the same decoration transfer ware including the area just inside the rim of the cup. It is marked JAPAN underneath.

You say you want information. I spend many hours in research and come up with a definitive answer, yet no response to those findings. What gives?

Hi plastciman. No there are no markings on this particular cup, however I appreciate all replies on the subject. Thank you kindly.

Please forgive my rash statements. I truly hope you are on the mend. The cup is so exactly matched to the one on sale that I got excited about the identification. I hope it provided some help.
