Subject:Trying to ID two asian pieces

I have two Asian pieces that my dad brought back from Asia in the early 1950s during the Korean war..One is a stupa-like object, the other a vase. Both are non ferrous metal and very heavy. Both are caked with dirt. My dad didn't want them cleaned. I'm trying to determine the country of origin and potential age of the objects. Thanks
