Any clues would be helpful. No markings that I see.

I suggest this is probably more likely a wine pot, with the wine kept warm in a bath of hot water.

The body of the outer container appears to have an inscription. This could give information about date and origin..

The pot and the container appear from the photo to be PakTong, a silvery metal alloy. Is this correct? If so, the trivet , which appears to be brass, would not have been originally part of the ensemble.
