Subject:Gongshi and calligraphy
Posted By: Andrea Sat, Jun 16, 2018 IP: 79.16.39.10

Hi! I think this is a "Gongshi". From the anthropomorphic form. Someone can help me with the translation of calligraphy? Is there a date or the author's name? Many thanks in advance for every help.

Andrea

Japanese, the artist's name is inscribed but I can't quite make it out. Surname begins with 崔, given name ends with 史. Not dated.

Text dates from China's Yuan dynasty and reads: 亭事木上坐楚楚洲夫火因依太古石融液無邊春

Hi rat,

I also can see the 崔 character, which is a Chinese family name, but I have not been able to find a Japanese family name begining thus.

The following conglomeration is I think two characters, but I have yet to unscramble them, and I think the last character of the name is a typical 子, suggesting that the artist is female。

I also think the first seal reads 日本氏。 I suppose a clearer photo of the second seal could begin to resolve these issues.
