Hello: We’ve inherited quite a few Asian items from my husband’s grandmothers estate. One of my favorites is this Foo Lion figure. I’d appreciate any help in learning more about him. I’ve done a large amount of research online, but the amount of information on these type of items is overwhelming, to say the least.
The mark is very small & rather dirty, difficult to make out. I’m not even sure if I have the photo right side up.

The mark appears to read QianLong Nian Zhi 乹隆年製, but I don't think you should expect it to be from that period. Possibly early 20th C. Possibly from ShiWan in Foshan City, Guangdong province, China.
