Posted By: Gregory Mon, Oct 29, 2018 This is an inexpensive Chinese soapstone figure of an elder mounted as lamp base. This is circa 1920s or thereabouts. Not particularly valuable. If the carving was of better quality, it would be much more valuable. Wholesale/auction would be around $100 or thereabouts. |

Posted By: David Sun, Nov 04, 2018 Personally I would buy it. It is an antique and these lamps are harder to find than people imagine. 1920-1930 is my guess. Put a beautiful shade on it and if you're decorating your place you'll have a wonderful statement piece lamp. On a side table in the corner it should look great. All that of course depends on the price. As mentioned earlier its a $100 piece. Maximum! |
