Subject:Jade Amulets

Hi! I recently purchased this collection of jade amulets but I really don't know anything about them other than they were originally purchased about 20 years ago by the previous owner from a Chinese gentleman living in London. I would greatly appreciate if some knowledgeable member of this forum could tell me something more about them. In particular it would be great to know more about the ones that are two colors. They are all very heavy and as best as I can tell are genuine jade. One of them seems to have stone or dirt grouted into it, as though it was buried for some time. They contain images of dragons, phoenixes, dogs, and other animals. The attached images are of the fronts and backs of all of the amulets. Thank you so much! This site is such an awesome resource! I'm having so much fun reading old posts.

Hello

I'm sorry to disappoint you but I don't think your collection is jade. the stone is treated mat not translucent it does not have a pearly appearance.
moreover the antique plates did not have this color were they pale or white.
how much did you pay for these parts?

concerning the sculpture it is received at the time the pieces were cut with strings coated with abrasive powder in particular garnets etc ... hard stones or by scraping with fine tools. the sculptures were not bitten.
I don't think a Chinese who was immersed in the culture of jade could have collected these pieces.
well elsewhere if you had bought a collection the pieces could not seem to be made by the same person ... often centuries separate them.
finally, even considering that this is a contemporary collection, the quality of the stones and the sculptures does not allow us to qualify these valuable objects.

again this is a personal opinion
take others

kind regards

Roberte

It looks like you got yourself some nice looking Jade pendants. The dirt was only added to convince you that they came from a burial chamber or a grave. Forget that, just wash them and they will look much nicer when cleaned.
