Subject:Large oriental vase with bird identifacation help
Posted By: arty Tue, Apr 30, 2019 IP: 67.248.148.171

Hi, I have this large pottery vase. It has a mark on the bottom that looks oriental. This measures 19" tall. I would appreciate any help with identifying the mark. Thank you, Arty

大日本京都柏山製 - Dai-Nihon Kyōto Hakusan-sei -
Japan Empire, Kyōto Hakusan Made
I have found out from the japanese language sites the followings,
Hakusan was the name of an already puled down kiln
in Kyōto's Kiyomizu Gojō area, founded at the end of Edo period by Inoue Hakusan (井上柏山)

With regards,
I.Nagy
