Subject:Mark Identification
Posted By: Mark Sawyer Sat, Jun 01, 2019 IP: 24.166.67.31

I am hoping to get some help in identifying these two marks. One is on a lamp, the other is on the bottom of a planter. Thank you so much in advance!

The indistinct mark at top is upside-down as shown but appears possibly to read "Zhong guo zhi zao - 中國製造", "Made in China", when flipped. The other two "things" appear to be out-of-place fragments of the decorative ground on the exterior of the piece, which isn't shown.

I'm unsure of the seal script in your second picture.

Dear Bill,

I would like to help you with the seal script, but I have now made a rule that if the poster doesn't show the whole piece, I won't waste my time transcribing seals or calligraphy.

Mike

Can't blame you a bit, but I was sorta bored and knew the planter wouldn't look much better than the mark. :)
