Posted By: rat Mon, Jul 01, 2019 The text seems to come from a Qing collection of poems called 两当轩诗钞 compiled by Huang Yingren 黄景仁. The calligrapher is Hu Yingfa 胡穎發 from Zhongxiang, Hubei province. The inscription is dated to the sixth lunar month of 1890. |

Posted By: TimG Wed, Jul 03, 2019 Thanks, Rat! There doesn't seem to be anthing on any English language websites about Hu Yingfa. So, I've attached a photo of the front painting and inscription. Could you tell me who the artist is? Maybe there will be more information available for him. Thanks. |

Posted By: Rat Tue, Jul 09, 2019 This was painted by Zhao Zhen 趙震, who was from Changzhou, in autumn 1890, after the style of Wen Zhengming. You likely won't find anything in English on him either, but this is a nice little fan. |
