Subject:Chinese Dragon Plate (National Museum of History)
Posted By: Chris Jensen Sun, Jan 12, 2020 IP: 69.169.128.39

Hello,

I received this plate years ago with a few other items and it's been packed away. It has a sticker on the back that says "From National Museum of History".

Any help identifying the maker and year it was created would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Inscription on plate,
拏雲駕躍天地
戊辰元旦
桃城人
玉山冩
Grasp the clouds and fly on the mist, jumping around in heaven and earth
On New Year's Day of the Year of Earth-Dragon (1988)
Taocheng-ren - Man from Taocheng - Pseudonym
Yushan-xie - Painted by Yu Shan - Other pseudonym

Upper seal,
城人 - Cheng-ren - Man from (Tao)cheng
Lower seal,
桃城囗人 - Taocheng口ren - 囗man from Taocheng

Back side,
國立歴史博物館監製 - Manufactured Under the Supervision of the National Museum of History -(Taiwan)

Seemingly, it was made for the souvenir shop of the museum.

With regards,
I.Nagy
